(3).CURRY LEAVES CHUTNEY POWDER ( KARIVEPAKU KARAM PODI)
Curry leaves have numerous health benefits like contols Blood pressure and Blood Sugar levels, improves digestion and improves Iron levels.
Regular use of Curry leaves in cooking improves appetite and reduces the greying of hair.
A table spoon of Curry leaves powder eaten with hot rice with ghee boosts your immunization.It can also be eaten with Idly ,Dosa ,Upma and Pongal
INGREDIENTS
1.Fresh Curry leaves 2 cups ( wash and dried) ( can use more )
2 2 tbsp Bengal gram
3.2 tbsp Black gramlentils ( i have used split black gram with skin)
4.3, to 4 Tbsp Coriander seeds
5.Cumin seeds 2 tsp
6.Dry red Chillies 15 to 20 ( i have used Bedgi Mirchi)
7.Salt
8.1 tsp oil
9. A small Goose berry size Tamarind
PREPARATION
1.Wash the Curry leaves and let them completely dry.
2.Heat oil and add Bengal ram and Black gram .Fry them untill they turn golden colour or gets aromatic smell.
3.Add Coriander seeds and Red chillies.Fry them for 2 to 3 minutes .
4.Add Curry leaves .Fry them another 2 to 3 minutes. Are till the leaves become crisp.
5.Add Cumin seeds and Tamarind .Mix all the ingredients well and saute for few second and switch off the flame.
6.Let cool the spices mixture for a while.
7.Add the mixture to a blender along with salt and blend them to a fine powder.
8.Keep it cool for some time and store in a air tight jar for 1 month.
NOTE : YOU CAN ALSO ADD SOME GARLIC PODS IF YOU LIKE ( ( Optional)
